Coffin Pond derives its name from a historic Brunswick family, serving as the town's popular public swimming facility since its development as a recreation area. Located off River Road about 0.7 miles from Route 1 across from Brunswick Golf Club, this hybrid swimming facility extends from River Road to the Androscoggin River, featuring chlorinated water with a sand bottom and zero-depth entry.

The recreation area offers a 55-foot water slide, fenced swimming area with a small sand beach, playground, and picnic facilities, staffed by certified lifeguards from mid-June to mid-August operating 10am to 5pm daily. The pond attracts toddlers and waterslide enthusiasts during the summer season from June 19 to August 23, with concessions and restrooms providing convenient amenities.

Brunswick's dining scene includes Cameron's Lobster House for locally wild-caught Maine lobster and crab made on-site, Pepper's Landing for fresh locally harvested seafood, and Gurnet Trading Company for fresh seafood and cooked dishes with scenic views of Buttermilk Cove from the covered patio.
