Off-leash dog access makes this the most popular dog beach on Whidbey Island, with the designated area starting 500 feet west of the parking lot marked by a windsock on a flagpole—dogs must remain leashed until reaching this boundary. The sandy beach provides endless running room for dogs during low tide, creating a canine paradise where pets splash in shallow waters, chase balls, and socialize with other dogs. Clamming attracts diggers during spring and fall low tides when butter clams and littleneck clams can be harvested with proper shellfish licenses—always check Department of Health closures before digging.
