Sandy Point Beach derives its name from its location at Sandy Point, greeting visitors as they cross the Ellis C. Snodgrass Memorial Bridge onto Cousins Island in Yarmouth, Maine. This beach serves as Yarmouth's only public sandy beach, positioned at the Royal River estuary where the river meets Casco Bay, part of the Royal River Water Trail system.

The beach is best enjoyed at low tide when the sand is exposed, offering swimming and picnicking opportunities with access to the West Side Trail featuring ravines, rocky bluffs, and vistas across Casco Bay. Open dawn to dusk year-round, the undeveloped beach provides a simple, charming setting with a small dirt parking area and outhouse, allowing off-leash dogs November 1 through March 31 but prohibiting dogs April 1 through October 31.

Nearby dining options include Maine Street Bistro in Brunswick for casual French fine dining and raw bar service, Gurnet Trading Company for fresh local seafood with Buttermilk Cove views, and Joshua's Restaurant & Tavern for burgers, seafood favorites, and stone baked pizza.
