Spiaggia di Vasto Marina stretches along 4.3 kilometers of the Adriatic coastline in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo, taking its name from the ancient Roman settlement of Histonium, which evolved into the medieval town of Vasto perched on the cliffs above. The beach's modern development began in the 1950s when Italian seaside tourism expanded along the Adriatic, transforming this once-quiet fishing shore into one of Abruzzo's premier beach destinations. The wide sandy beach, composed of fine golden sand with occasional pebble sections, has earned Blue Flag status for its water quality and environmental management, and features the distinctive trabocchi—traditional wooden fishing platforms on stilts—that have become iconic symbols of the Abruzzo coast.

The beach offers extensive facilities for beach volleyball, with several permanent courts hosting tournaments during summer months, alongside paddleboard and kayak rentals for exploring the rocky promontories that bookend the sandy stretches. The calm, shallow waters extending 30-50 meters from shore make the beach ideal for families, while windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts favor the northern sections where afternoon breezes create favorable conditions. A paved lungomare (seaside promenade) runs the beach's length, providing access to numerous stabilimenti (beach clubs) offering chair and umbrella rentals, as well as connecting to the Riserva Naturale di Punta Aderci, a protected coastal area 2 kilometers north featuring unspoiled dunes and nature trails. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards from June through September, and evening passeggiata (strolls) along the waterfront are a cherished local tradition.

Trabocco Cungarelle, perched on a historic fishing platform extending into the sea, serves brodetto alla vastese (Vasto-style fish stew) with at least seven types of local fish and scampi all'acqua pazza in a light tomato broth. Trabocco Trimalcione, another restored trabocco restaurant, specializes in spaghetti alle vongole with clams harvested daily from nearby waters and grilled orata (sea bream) with lemon and herbs. Ristorante Zì Albina, located on the beachfront promenade, offers pasta alla chitarra with fresh sea urchin and fritto misto featuring calamari, prawns, and small fish from the morning catch. Hostaria del Pavone, in Vasto's historic center above the beach, is renowned for its ventricina salami (a spicy Abruzzese specialty), agnello alle olive (lamb with olives), and pallotte cacio e ova (cheese and egg fritters in tomato sauce).
